Hi there, we’re a culinary blog that was born from the bedroom.
Yes, the BEDROOM!
While most blogs are built from the kitchen or the office, I came with the idea of launching from the bedroom.
My name is Jim, and I’ve been living a nomadic lifestyle for the past decade of my life; then, during the pandemic, I returned to my roots in London, England. It bummed me out so much during lockdown that I couldn’t go out and taste crazy cuisines that would tantalise my palette.
Part of the reason I loved travelling was that I could explore other cultures on a shoestring budget and explore cuisines without hardly having to cook myself.
The truth is, just like many of us, I became pretty glum on lockdown.
But after some weeks dwelling on my experiences, I realised I could turn this into a positive one. I’ve spent a large portion of my life learning about others’ insights and seeing first-hand the different world of food. I’ve been fortunate to learn on the go about the food I wouldn’t generally be able to source at home.
While this information was piling up in my brain, I realised I needed to have a new outlet to share with others what I found. Instead of talking about it excessively to my social circle, I decided I could reach a wider community with like-minded individuals, which is why I set up this blog.
But I didn’t want this blog to be biased and show one type of perspective surrounding food; I wanted it to be much bigger than that.
What we’re about
While I was the initial founder, I’m not the only writer; I have a team who work by the side of me. I don’t mean they’re sat right next to me now, but they’re stationed all across the globe constantly researching and writing cool content on cuisines.
We totally believe in people and feel you don’t have to be a top chef to write about food. Even if you notice, those chefs in their A-game are always evolving their knowledge and innovating their food creations. The best people in the food industry, from tasters, waiters, chefs and bloggers, are daredevils.
This is why we post content that is often experimental, controversial and shareable. If you’re looking to find recipes, then you’ve come to the wrong place. We’re more about bringing you different perspectives and insights on a culinary culture different from your own.
Our broad approach
Most blogs you find online will strive their best to hone their content towards one niche for monetary reasons. But for us, money is not our purpose; we care about writing meaningful stuff.
Plus, after all, it gets a tad boring reading about the same stuff over and over again. That’s why you can expect to find content on the topics of:
- How to guides
- Information on different countries cuisines
- Guides for beginners
- Reviews of cooking products
- Tips on how to bond over food
- Supportive steps to encourage you to cook
My team from different backgrounds is here to engage and help you when it comes to food. We endeavour to enrich your food knowledge and bring you opportunities, so stay tuned for insightful posts!
