Grand Central announces 13 restaurant sites

Grand Central aka Previously Palisades, New New Street or whatever else it’s known as, has announced all 13 of its restaurant sites.

The shopping centre owned by Birmingham City Council, which will sit above new New St, will open in September 2015 (all being well) and includes a range of eat-in or take-out eateries, some of which are new to the city…and some of which we have rather a few of already.

The confirmed restaurants are; Caffe Concerto, Tapas Revolution, Pho, Tortilla, Giraffe, Square Pie, Crepe Affaire, Hand Made Burger Co, Carluccio’s, Yo Sushi, Nando’s and Edge Diner.

What do you think of the list?

Once again a own goal from a city dead-set on populating everywhere possible with chains, derivative belly button fluff. Thanks for the news – such a shame…

It’s nice to see some new faces to the city but I was a little disappointed there wasn’t more ‘homegrown’ stuff too. Feels like it would’ve had more impact and reason to visit.

What a shame it is all chains. No home growns, like Urban Coffee of Six Eight. And, yes, it is a chain, albeit a small one, we need a Leon. I think you will find that the parent company of most of these eateries is the same. Deal done. Will not be spending any of my money there.
